Getting to Know Me

1.  If you play a sport, what type of sport do you play?  How long have you been playing this sport? I do not play a sport at the current moment. However, I did play soccer for nine years and coached soccer for two years.
2. What are you passionate about?  For example, in your free time, what do you enjoy doing most? I am very passionate about connections. I love my family and friends and the time I spend with them. In my free time I spend as much time with the people who helped define me as possible. Even being at FDU can be a little tricky due to being an hour and a half from home but I am forming new friendships and bonds.
3. What is THE MOST ridiculous lie you ever told?  Why did you tell this lie? The most ridiculous lie I ever told was that I was going to die my hair a crazy color. I told it to see the reaction I would get from my friend.
4. When you write, do you just sit at the computer and allow the words to flow or do you have an outline? How I write depends on my mood and time. If I have a lot of time on my hands then I try to brainstorm and make an outline. However, if I’m short on time or just don’t exactly know how to start I let the words flow onto the paper.
5. How would you describe your writing experience so far?   What do you most want to learn from this course? I think my writing experience is pretty average. I know the basics and depending on the topic and amount of time given I believe I can write a slightly above average paper. I would like to become much more confident in my work, such as essays. 
6. What was the name of the most recent book you’ve read from cover to cover?  The last book I read cover to cover was “The Five People You Meet in Heaven” by Mitch Albom.
7. How often do you write on social media: facebook, Twitter, Snap Chat,  Instagram? I check facebook, twitter, snapchat, and instgram everyday however the only one I post something everyday on is snapchat. I never write on twitter or facebook and I post on instagram about once a week. 
8. What is most important for you to learn this semester? This semester I really would like to become confident in my essay skills. Through out high school, it was drilled into my head that in college I would have an intense amount of papers to write. I would like to be overly confident in my writing skills to stress a little less. 
9. What is your definition of identity? Identity, to me, is the uniqueness of an individual. It is something no one can take away from you. It is you; for example, it is your personality, your passions, anything about yourself that helps define who you are. 
10. What problem or issue is important to you and why?  Discuss your answer.  Some examples of a problem could be lack of privacy on Snapchat, more activities on campus, increasing/decreasing drinking age.  These are just suggestions.  You do not have to use them.  An issue that is important to me is how common cheating is between significant others. I understand that emotions change, people change, people get bored however that is not an excuse to crush or embarrass someone. The lack of communication in some relationships is very upsetting to me. People should be able to express their feelings to one another instead of hurting each other’s. 
11. Rate yourself as a writer: A, B, C or D.  Discuss why. I would say I am in between a “B” and “C” when rating my writing skills. I still get confused on simple things such as correct use of apostrophes and I am not the best at spelling.
