My first time packing for college happen to be very stressful. I didn't know what to pack, what necessities I would need, and I definitely did not want to over or under pack. I drove myself insane. So, like any modern time teen, I turned to the internet for a little guidance. Google and Pinterest gave me plenty of nifty little tricks in order to fit more in my dorm. However, nothing truly gave me that "I know exactly where to start" feeling. So I chose to wing it. I knew it wasn't my smartest idea and ignoring my moms repeated reminders to write a list was probably not too smart either. Yet, I figured I'd just learn from experience. So, now being through the experience realizing my mistakes and advantages of the way I packed I have one suggestion to any incoming freshman: OVERPACK!! It sounds crazy and is the one thing I definitely wanted to avoid but it was definitely worth it. You have to remember anything you don't have the space for, send home with your family, or throw it in a corner and take it back the following weekend. If you're like me, you may even find that you have a lot more room than you originally had expected. Good luck and happy packing!
